Some days ago Royer Labs announced a complete new serie of products, the Royer Labs Live Series Ribbon Mics, that expand their acclaimed ribbon mics, used by artists like Aerosmith or The Rolling Stones. This mics have been designed for many different miking tasks like guitar amps, drums and brass instruments.
There will be 3 models of the Royer Labs Live Series Ribbon Mics, the SF-24 Live and the R-121 and R-122 Live models. The 3 models are based on previously existing figure-8 polar pattern neodymium magnet (the R-series models) mics but now they have improved durability (with low gain and transients response loss) and bleed elimination.
The mics from this serie are easily-convertible to studio mics with a re-ribbon, so you get, almost, two for the price of one. The Royer Labs Live Series Ribbon Mics are available for pre-order and they will be shipping on Novemeber 15th, the prices are $4,495 for the SF-24 Live, $1,395 for the R-121 Live and $1,895 for the R-122 Live.
