Guild introduced at Summer NAMM some new acoustic and acoustic/electric guitars including the Guild Contemporary CO-2 acoustic and the Guild Contemporary CO-2C acoustic/electric guitars. Both guitars have similar features but the main differences are CO-2C model features a single venetian cut-away, D-TAR Wave-Length pickup and preamp system and volume and tone controls and two adjustable trim pots (low and high frequency).

Both guitars include a hardshell case and are available in natural, antique burst and ice tea burst (only CO-2 model) The MSRP are $2,499.99 for the Guild Contemporary CO-2 and $2,699.99 for the Guild Contemporary CO-2C.
Taylor Guitars has expanded its acoustic and acoustic/electric guitar line with the Taylor Koa Series Guitars. This series has acoustic no cut-away and acoustic/electric single cut-away guitars and include dreadnought, grand concert, grand auditorium and jumbo shapes, in 6 or 12-string versions.
The Taylor Koa Series Guitars feature Hawaiian koa body with sitka spruce or koa top, tropical American mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, 20 frets, 25.5″ scale length (except GC-K that has 24 7/8″) and ebony bridge. The acoustic/electric models also feature Taylor Expression System electronics.
All the models, acoustic or acoustic/electric, are available in left-handed versions and come with a hardshell case. MSRPs for the Taylor Koa Series Guitars start at $3,998 and end at $5,598.

One of the most interesting, by now, releases in the guitar wolrd of this year’s Summer NAMM is the new acoustic-electric archtop guitar by Gretsch. The Gretsch 100CE (G100CDBK for the black finish) is based, as Cary noted, on the Synchromatic G100 model but, among other new features, this one has a pickup on the bridge.
The Gretsch 100CE features laminated maple body with laminated spruce top, laminated maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, 20 frets, compensated bridge with chromatic tailpiece, one Gretsch single-coil pickup and volume and tone controls.
The guitar is available in sunburst and black matte finishes, both of them are really good looking guitars to give a better presence in the stage. The MSRP price of the Gretsch 100CE and G100CEBK guitars is $950.
