Holophone introduced its new product – the H2-5.1 surround microphone, exclusively equipped with Sennheiser’s MKE series microphone capsules.
Based on the company’s flagship model, the H2-PRO, the H2-5.1 features six Sennheiser microphone capsules arranged to correspond with the typical 5.1 speaker setup found in a studio or home theater. This configuration allows the H2-5.1 to easily and effortlessly capture, from a single point, an extremely accurate 5.1 surround recording with no signal manipulation required. The mic’s six channels of audio are output to six separate XLR connectors.
“We are proud to announce that our H2-5.1 is now shipping and will have the added feature of being equipped with Sennheiser’s MKE series mics,” says Michael Godfrey, president and founder of Holophone. “We are continually looking at ways to upgrade our existing products. As the vast majority of work being done in surround today is in the 5.1 format, we thought it would make sense to have a 5.1 channel version of our flagship H2-PRO. Our customers asked… and we listened.”
For productions that require more detailed 7.1 or 6.1 formats, Holophone will continue to offer the ever popular H2-PRO, which is entirely compatible with all multi-channel I/O devices. Holophone microphone products are compatible with all surround-sound encoding/playback formats (Dolby, DTS, Neural Audio, Circle Surround, IMAX, etc.).
