We talked about the Fast Track series some time ago with the Ultra model and now M-Audio releases a new device for those who need a medium-size interface for recording from more than 2 sources simultaneously with professional quality in a computer-based studio. The M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R is a USB and MIDI recording interface for those who need a big powered device spending the little home studio price.
The features of the M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R are 8 channels, 24-bit audio resolution, 96 kHz sampling rate, MX Core DSP (allows to monitor with effects while recording), 8 Octane preamps (with +48V phantom power and 20 dB pads), 8 combo XLR/TRS (mic line) and 2 1/4″ (instrument) inputs, 8 analog balanced TRS and 2 independent headphones (with volume controls) outputs and USB 2.0, S/PDIF and MIDI connections.
This recording device comes in a 1U rack-mountable format and a durable but light metal chassis, and is compatible with ASIO 2.0, WDM, MME and Core Audio drivers. The M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R is now available and its price is $499.95.
