If you ever used the classic U 67 mic in a studio you probably found out what a great tool it is, and if you want one of those but you don’t want to spend a lot of money or waste a lot of time searching for one you could take a look at the new Neumann TLM 67 Studio Mic, released for the 80th anniversary of the Neumann brand, that has been based on the U 67 model. This model is specially good at vocal or orchestral tasks.
The main features of the Neumann TLM 67 Studio Mic are 3 switchable directional polar pattern (omnidirectional, cardioid and figure-8), 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, transformerless circuit, condenser mic, double large-diaphragm capsule (inside a large wire mesh grill), 10dB pre-attenuation (switchable), high-pass filter (switchable) and XLR output.
There are a lot of accessories available for this model, from floor mount kit to elastic suspension shock mount. Price and availability of the Neumann TLM 67 Studio Mic have not been announced yet.
