The Finnish company EKS has released what they call The next generation of digital DJ’ing and actually called EKS Otus USB DJ Controller, that looks like a very cool USB controller (with similar aim than XP5 model) which main feature is to control different channels at the same time with only one controller, let’s see how they do that.
The EKS Otus USB DJ Controller features an internal 4-channel 24-bit sound card that can be used with any DJ software, that is the heart of this controller. Other features are 16-bit/24-bit audio resolution, 44.1kHz and 48kHz sampling rates, 4Hz to 24kHz frequency response, 7.5″ touch-sensitive jog wheel (with position/speed LED displays), 4 jog dial with switches, 17 low travel and 6 touch buttons, 10 assignable control knobs and 80mm touch-sensitive pitch slider backlit controls, on-board notebook-like touchpad (that can be used for mouse or effects control), 2 stereo RCA and headphone outputs and USB and MIDI connections.
This controller will be available in June but in Autumn there will be also a Otus RAW version that is mor similar to the usual DJ controller that is meant to be the bridge between those kind of controllers and the Otus. The price of the EKS Otus USB DJ Controller has not been unveiled yet.
