G&L has released a new model on its guitar product line based on the Classic Bluesboy model, the G&L ASAT Classic Bluesboy Spalted Maple Top is a telecaster-like guitar but with a humbucker and a single-coil pickup. This model comes in spalted natural finish that gives it that aged look, that is really attractive.
The features of the G&L ASAT Classic Bluesboy Spalted Maple Top Guitar are solid alder body with maple top, hard rock maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, 25.5″ scale length, ‘boxed steel’ bridge with individual saddles, Seymour Duncan Seth Lover humbucker (neck) and custom magnetic classic single-coil pickup, 3-way pickup switch, master volume and tone controls.
This model come with a moulded hardshell case and its chrome hardware matches really good with the natural finish. The availability and price of the G&L ASAT Classic Bluesboy Spalted Maple Top Guitar have not been announced yet.

The new model from Allen & Heath Xone series is a USB mixer with a new soundcard that includes the same features than the Xone:3D but with some interesting news like multi-track recording, running 4 simultaneous decks in Native Instruments Traktor or, like a lot of people requested, panels that can be read in very low light using a ultra violet sensitive paint.
The specifications Allen & Heath Xone:4D Mixer are 24-bit audio resolution and 96 kHz sampling rate, 8 different setups for the USB soundcard (that removes the need of using the computer software utility like the Xone:3D model), 225 assignable MIDI controls, real-time LFO waveform edit function, 4 stereo and digital outputs and 4 stereo and digital inputs and FX2 RCA sockets that can be converted to recording outputs.
This mixer works with both PC and Mac and could be a very interesting tool for DJs. The Allen & Heath Xone:4D Mixer will be available next month and its approximate price will be $2,000.
Dan Donegan, Disturbed axeman, and Washburn have released 2 new signature models inside the Idol model line that look great, single and double cut-away models that both include a case and feature the chopper top graphic finish.
The Washburn Dan Donegan Signature WI91 features mahogany body with carved maple top, mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, 22 jumbo frets, 25.5″ scale length, Tune-o-matic bridge with Tone Pros stop tailpiece, El diablo (bridge) and ’59 (neck) humbucker Seymour Duncan pickups, 3-way pickup switch and 2 volume and 2 tone controls.
While the other model, the Washburn Dan Donegan Signature WI63SF includes also mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, 22 jumbo frets, 25.5″ scale length, Tune-o-matic bridge with Tone Pros stop and string-through tailpiece, Randall UL (neck) and SL (bridge) humbucker pickups, 3-way pickup switch and 2 volume and 2 tone controls.
The list prices of these 2 signature models are $5,400 and $700, so you can choose, the affordable one… or the other, by the way, the release date has not been announced.
The same day of the Earth Day Lace has released, probably, the first ecologic pickup system, the Aluma P Bass System Pickups, that have been designed to contaminate less than standard pickups. Belonging to the Alumitone pickup series this model is available in 4- and 5-/6-string version and produces a great tone in a light-weight format.
The Lace Aluma P Bass System Pickups includes some ecologic features like a 95% less of copper wire and eliminates the need of using batteries for the preamp, but this doesn’t mean the pickup has a worst sound, this model produces the same tone and performance of other pickups and without any noise but consuming almost no natural resources.
The pickup includes a recyclable aluminum cover available in chrome and black finishes. The Lace Aluma P Bass System Pickups price will be $160, in black finish and $180 in silver finish, but the release date has not been announced.
Hipkitty, a pedal and amp company with more than has been around more than 20 years, has released a new amp model, the Hipkitty Kitty Box Amp. This all-tube head amp is hand-wired, as all its products, includes made in USA transformers and produces a big range of tones, from clean and crunchy to classic tube warm distortion.
The specifications of the Hipkitty Kitty Box Amp are single channel, 50-watts power output, 12AX7 preamp and EL34 power amp tubes (but it also can use EL34, 6L6 or 5881 output tubes), switchable tube or solid state rectifier, high and low inputs, volume and master volume controls and 3-band EQ.
This head amp is only available in this green-like stained wood color and you can hear a sound sample in the official site that will give you and idea of the amp’s versatility that can be used with almost any music style. The price and availabilty of the Hipkitty Kitty Box Amp have not been announced yet.
We talked about the Volcano model from Reverend some time ago, but now they have released a limited edition of this guitar changing a little bit its configuration. The Reverend Limited Edition Volcano H90 Guitar is a very good option for those who look for a fying-v model with a very special sound.
The main feature of the Reverend Limited Edition Volcano H90 Guitar is their new pickup, a GFS Mean 90 pickup in the neck position that will be a very good complement of the humbucker pickup of the bridge position. Other features include solid korina body and 1-piece neck, rosewood fingerboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, Tune-o-matic bridge with stop tailpiece, 3-way pickup switch, volume, tone and bass contour controls.
There is no release date nor price of the Reverend Limited Edition Volcano H90 Guitar but the production run will be very limited, although we don’t know also the number.
Eden, a high quality amp company, has released a new bass amp series that have been designed by David Nordschow and specially designed for students. The Eden Nemesis N Series Combo Amps include several models, low-powered N8JR and N10, and bigger N12, N15 and N28.
All the amps include mechanical twitter, coaxial speakers, gain, enhance and master volume controls, 3-band EQ, line and phones outputs and bass and aux inputs. More specifically, the Nemesis N8JR amp includes 25-watts power output, 42 Hz to 6 kHz frequency response and 8″ speaker; the Nemesis N10 amp includes 48 Hz to 13 kHz frequency response, 10″ speaker and 50-watts power output; the other models, the Nemesis N12 combo amp features 150-watts, 12″ speaker and 42 Hz to 12 kHz frequency response, the Nemesis N15 includes 200-watts power output, 15″ speaker, and 38 Hz to 10 kHz frequency response while the Nemesis N28 combo amp features 200-watts power output, 2 8″ speakers and 42 Hz to 13 kHz frequency response.
All this amps offer big tone and low weight, perfect for rehearsals or shows. The price range of the Eden Nemesis N Series Bass Combo Amps goes from $169 to $569 but the release date has not been announced.
The latest release of the pickup company Seymour Duncan is a new humbucker pickup that is the answer to those who demanded a better symbiosis between the huge gained amps and the pickups. The Seymour Duncan SH-15 Alternative-8 Humbucker Pickup is the first to feature the Alnico 8 magnet, that includes hot coils wound to get a bigger output level.
Although this pickup is specially designed for those who have an amp with a lot of gain power, it can also be used in almost any rock style providing a powerful low tone with fat midrange but not being too much dark.
The recommendations for this pickup are: bridge position, combination with SH-1n '59 or the SH-2n Jazz Model and a warm guitar with rosewood fingerboard. There have been no info about the price nor the release date of the Seymour Duncan SH-15 Alternative-8 Humbucker Pickup.
