I have not seen this new model yet, but the old one is one tough customer to improve upon. I was wondering if we have another Korg M1 type of situation here, an instant “classic” being born. You see, what chafes MY expression pedal, is that EVERYBODY owns the old model, and are smitten w/ the latest offering (or others) and have to have it. But do you think ANYBODY will sell me their old M1 OR SR16 ? OR Proteus module OR “VintageKeys/Classic Keys modules ? ? ? NO WAY ! Dagnabbit ! ! and I pay top dollar too ! ! Let’s hide and watch this one, for sentimental reasons, y’all. Roger Harris, Managing Dir., The Raggamuffin Philharmonic Orchestra Co.

does anyone know how the Alesis SR 18 compares with the Boss/Roland DR 880 ? any responses will be highly appreciated… there’s at least 200 price difference between the two..

    Sincerely,

Just tried out the Sr 18. very impressive.
bought and returned the 880. great sounds but some major functional problems. Tempos per pattern cannot be globally turned off. so switching patterns means switching tempos.
Just not set up for live use unless you just use song mode.
Alesis is very functional for live use. Thanks, Tom
