akai’s xr20 is the worst attempt at making a hip hop beat machine i have ever seen! The quantise was awful the sounds were generic and it was buggy as hell. Plus all the dudes trying to tell me about it were the oposite of hip hop. The xr20 is just another attempt by a rich greedy corporation to exploit our culture!
Dont Waste your money on the Akai xr20

I agree with Tony the XR 20 was really wack!!!! I played with it at Namm too. What a Joke!! I wont buy it either!

Tony needs to learn how to spell. It’s QuantiZe. Plus, opposite has two p’s. I have a hard time believing an opinion from someone who apparently can’t pass a 2nd grade spelling test. Next time you want to rant, please use spell check.

flat out great sounds, synths ans hits!
so unique that i have seen beat makers using this through the midi out to go through to their mpc. so if that doesnt say anything in itself then what other drum machine out there for this price has such a nice catalogue of sounds that you want to link it to your mpc.?
    thats all…
i paid 175 for it on ebay!
    best move in my life!
