Another model to be included in the list of the handheld recorders, this time from Yamaha and with some very interesting features. The Yamaha Pocketrak 2G Pocket Recorder is a very compact device (1.7 ounces and 0.5″ thick) with rechargeable battery, 2 GB internal memory and up to 9 hours of continuously recording.
The Yamaha Pocketrak 2G Pocket Recorder features built-in high-sensitivity tilt-up mic, noise reduction, built-in speaker, automatic level control function (with switch) that adjust the volume level to improve recording quality, headphone output and line input, speed play modifier switch (normal, 25% faster and 25% slower), MP3, WMA, WAV and DRM10-WMA support and USB 2.0 connection.
The pocket recorder comes with the Steinberg Cubase AI4 software that includes the Cubase 4 software, Halion One Software sampler, VST3 plug-ins effects and sample loops. The Yamaha Pocketrak 2G Pocket Recorder will be available in April and the MSRP price is $449.
