Ampeg ADA4 See-Through Bass & AMG100 Guitar [Winter NAMM 2008]

Ampeg, the company that reissued Dan Amstrong Plexi Guitars, will release 2 new products at Winter NAMM, one is their fist bass effort, the Ampeg ADA4 See-Through Bass Guitar a reissued model of the original Dan Amstrong Plexi Bass, and the other is the Ampeg AMG100 Electric Guitar, a guitar with 3 different “flavors” that is based on the Plexi guitars but has wood body instead of the classic acrylic design. Also both models include a removable pickup system.

Ampeg ADA4 See-Through Bass

The Ampeg ADA4 See-Through Bass features acrylic body (just like Plexi guitars), maple neck, Indian rosewood fingerboard, 24 frets, 30″ scale length, solid rosewood bridge, Kent Armstrong’s Removable Pickup (with 1 slot), 2-way pickup preset switch and volume and tone (this knob adjusts the treble and bass tones for a deep tone) controls. The bass guitar comes with 2 different pickups, bright bass and deep bass models. The Ampeg ADA4 has a minimum advertised price (MAP) of $1,400.

Ampeg AMG100 Guitar

Each version of the Ampeg AMG100 Guitar, comes with its own features, but the 3 share these ones, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, 24 frets, 24.75″ scale length, Kent Armstrong’s Removable Pickup, 3-way pickup presets (bypassed and 2 different frequencies presets) and volume and tone controls. The guitar comes with rock treble and sustain treble pickup models and is available in 3 versions, the AMG100 BLD, with swamp ash body with vintage blonde finish and black pickguard, that has a MAP of $730; the AMG100 CH, with mahogany body, vintage cherry finish and laminated black pickguard, that has a MAP $530; and AMG100 BK, that features alder body, black finish and tortoise-shell pickguard, that has a MAP of $450.

This models will be available at Ampeg booth at Winter NAMM, but their release date has not been unveiled.
