Alesis has introduced what could be a very interesting release, a speaker and recording system all-in-one (through the USB port) that can be a perfect complement for the recording desktop computers. The Alesis M1Active 320 USB Speakers can work as recording monitors but you can also connect any instrument (keyboards, guitar, …) or hardware (preamps, mixer, CD/MP3 players, …) to create your own tracks, a great tool that will save space in your desktop.
The Alesis M1Active 320 USB Speakers feature 16-bit audio resolution and 44.1 or 48 kHz sampling rates for recording and playback tasks, headphones output, stereo RCA, 1/4″ and 1/8” TRS inputs, bass boost on/off switch, power supply switch and, obviously, USB connection.
The main problem for this product is the USB 1.1 port, we even don’t know if the 2.0 version, that should be obligatory on all USB products, could get better quality. The Alesis M1Active 320 USB Speakers are now available and their price is $99.95.
