Infrasonic, a Sims Audio brand, has released a new recording interface for those who need a compact device for its notebook or to record wherever you are. The Infrasonic Amon USB Interface is a small but heavy duty aluminum cased device that works with Windows and Mac OS X operating systems and provides all the necessary to start an improvised recording with your laptop.
The Infrasonic Amon USB Interface features 2 channels (line/instrument and mic channels), mic preamp and headphones amp, gain control per channel, master output level control, A/D and D/A audio converters, 24 bit audio resolution, 44.1, 48, 88.2 and 96 kHz sampling rates, zero latency direct hardware monitoring, 1/4″ mic and line and stereo RCA line inputs, stereo RCA line and 1/4″ headphones outputs and MIDI and USB connections.
This interface, that is USB powered and supports ASIO 2.0, MME, DirectSound and Core Audio plug-in formats, comes with a demo software package that includes Absynth 4, Massive and Traktor 3. The availability of the Infrasonic Amon USB Interface has not been announced yet but its MRSP is $225.
