Almost at the same time that Vox has released the Mark III Limited Edition Guitar they have introduced a semi-hollowed body Japanese-made bass model with the same design than the guitar, the Vox Teardrop Bass Limited Edition VBW-2000.
The VOX Teardrop Bass Limited Edition VBW-2000 features mahogany body with carved maple top, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets plus zero fret, 30″ scale length, covered bridge and Vox custom stopbar tailpiece, 2 white covered Vox custom designed single-coil pickups, 3-way pickup switch and volume and tone controls.
This bass has a 3-color sunburst with natural vintage finish. The Vox Teardrop Bass Limited Edition VBW-2000 price and availability have not been announced yet.

Would like to know the cost and delivery date of the VOX Teardrop Bass Limited Edition VWB-2000
It looks a lot like my 1967 Vox Stinger Bass! I hope it sound great too.
I can’t wait to see what the price will be. I hope it is reasonable, at least in the $800.00 range or less would make it a real deal. Vox guitars were so cool I am glad they are starting to come back.
This will compete with Phantom Guitar Works who make Vox Teardrop Guitar copies. I have been thinking of buying the Phantom Bill Wyman Bass, but if the price is better on this, I will go for it. The Phantoms are USA made whereas the new Vox Bass is Japanese. I would like to see and play each to test the quality.
It seems that the Vox Teardrop Bass is not available yet and no info on a release date has been unveiled yet, so we must wait to see its price.
I have seen the new Vox Bass on a Japanese web-site for 233,000 Yen, over $2,000 US. Seems the Phantoms are a better deal. They go for $750.00.
