This new release by an almost unknown company seems very interesting, the new amps from Blackheart Engineering are called Little Giant Amps, little is for its power and size, 5 watts and small, and giant is for its classic boutique tube amp sound. These small beauties are hand-wired point-to-point Class A amps that offer from low distortion to highly overdrive tones in 2 different formats, the half stack and the combo version, but the head amp and cabinet of the half stack are also available separately.
The half stack version of the Blackheart Engineering Little Giant Amp includes the BH5H head amp that features 5-watts power output, 12AX7 preamp and EL84 power amp, 3-band EQ, volume control, solid state rectifier, pentode/triode switch and speaker output for 4, 8 and 16 ohms. And talking about speakers the BH112 speaker cabinet that matches the head amps features 12″ Eminence Speaker Blackheart Model 1216B, up to 75-watts, 2 parallel jacks and 16 ohms input.
There is also a combo version, the BH5-112 combo, that has all the features from the head amp and cabinet speaker in a 5-watt combo amp. These amps are now available and their price are $149.95 for the BH5H head amp, $129.95 for the BH112 speaker cabinet and $249.95 for the BH5-112 combo amp.
