There have been some news about preamps lately and here we have another one, the British company Audient has released a new asymmetric mic/line preamp, the MICO Preamp. This preamp is a compact device that will provide high quality sound in small studios or on your home desktop.
The Audient MICO Preamp features 2 channels, 24 bit audio processing and 44.1, 48 or 96 (even 192 when using an external word clock) kHz sampling rate, +48V phantom power, -10 dB pad, switchable high pass filters, gain control per channel, 2 mic/line combo and BCN word clock inputs and AES/EBU, S/PDIF and TOSLINK outputs. The first channel has a front 1/4″ jack input and the HMX Harmonic sculpting function that is also available in the Black Pre model, while second channel features a 0-180º phase shifter.
This device is a Class A with ultra high quality A/D converters, so it could a really good option for your studio. The Audient MICO Preamp is now available and its price is €750.
