Although this is, supposedly, only for professional recording studios, I though it is a interesting release. T.C. Electronic has released a new member of the PowerCore family, the PowerCore X8. The PowerCore products are interfaces, to be used with DAW, that process almost any kind of plug-in, from basics like reverb or delay to more complex ones like voice modeling.
The T.C. Electronic PowerCore X8 features Power PC processors, 8 150 MHz Motorola DSP engines, 8 x 512 kWords RAM, Firewire 400 port and 14 included plug-ins (including virtual finalizer, vintage compression, voice channel strip, TC-quality reverbs like classic, mega and stereo source revebs, modulation effects and many more).
This product, that is compatible with RTAS, VST and AU plug-in formats, works with Mac (10.4 version or above) and Windows (XP or Vista) systems and comes with a $500 plug-in voucher to be acquired at the T.C. Electronic on-line store. The T.C. Electronic PowerCore X8 will be available in November and its MSRP is $1,749.
