Michael Tobias Design and Power Group have joined to release a new bass guitar model that goes between the MTD American handmade and the Z bass models, the Michael Tobias Design KZX Bass. This instrument, at the moment only available as a 5-string bass, is a limited edition so it will fill the gap only temporally.
The Michael Tobias Design KZX Bass features burled maple top, chrome hardware, active 9-volt 3-band preamp which mid knob includes a push/pull pot that activates a switchable midrange, master volume control that also features a push/pull pot that switches between active and passive Bartolini humbucker pickups.
The first 30 basses will be numbered and signed by Michael Tobias. The Michael Tobias Design KZX Bass will be available in late 2007 and its price has to be announced yet, but it won’t be low.
