This much anticipated release of the 45th week mode of the Guitar of the Week series looks like a Joan Jett signature guitar that has been based on a Melody Maker guitar but with only one pickup and a double cutaway design. The description of the Gibson Joan Jett Melody Maker Double Cutaway on the official site is not what someone expects from a company like Gibson but we’ll try describe it.
The Gibson Joan Jett Melody Maker Double Cutaway features mahogany body and neck, ‘50 neck profile, ebony fingerboard, 22 frets, 24.75″ scale length (although the official site says 22.75″, I think it should be an errata), Nashville bridge with stopbar tailpiece, Burstbucker 3 Zebra Coil humbucker bridge pickup, a pickup switch (maybe for tap coil?) and 1 volume and 1 tone controls.
This Joan Jett signature guitar comes in a, not bad, worn white finish with black pickguard. The price and availability of the Gibson Joan Jett Melody Maker Double Cutaway have to be announced yet and its production run will be limited to 400 units.
