Gibson Explorer with Short Vibrola

Gibson Explorer with Short Vibrola

This is probably the strangest features combination on the Guitar of the Week models that have been introduced or accidentally leaked, a Gibson Explorer with Short Vibrola. The Vibrola tailpieces were the name for the Gibson’s tremolo arms series that included licensed Bigsby version, but this short vibrola looks like a Gibson own design.

The Gibson Explorer with Short Vibrola features mahogany body and neck, Explorer neck profile, ebony fingerboard, 22 frets, 24.75″ scale length, Nashville bridge with Short Vibrola tailpiece, 1 ‘57 Classic and 1 ‘57 Classic Plus covered humbucker pickups, 3-way pickup switch and 2 volume and 1 tone controls.

This guitar has a trans amber finish and a white pickguard with gold hardware, a strange combination that I’d like to hear how it sounds. The Gibson Explorer with Short Vibrola price and availability have to be announced yet and its production run will be limited to 400 units.
