The new compressor unit from Chameleon Labs has been unveiled and it includes features suggested by Chameleon Labs product users. This stereo compressor has the lowest possible components to keep the signal as clear as possible.
The Chameleon Labs 7720 Stereo Compressor features the meter switch, that allows to adjust the input, output and compression level for each channel; sidechain controls (sidechain knob, out switch and on/off blue LED) that modifies the compressor settings when a something is connected through the sidechain XLR input; a high pass filter, that minimizes the lower frequencies affecting the circuit itself, not the audio signal; a ratio switch, that includes a non-usual 1.5:1 ratio configuration that gives you more control over the dynamics; and attack, release and output level controls.
This compressor unit is rack-mountable (1U) and can also work as a mono compressor by using only the left channel connections only. The Chameleon Labs 7720 Stereo Compressor will be available in the first quarter of 2008 and its MSRP is $599.
