If you are a Metallica fan, or even you are not a fan but you love their sound, you should take a look at the Kirk Hammet Jr. guitar released some days ago and take a look at this, Metallica axeman Kirk Hammett is working with Randall Amplifiers to create a full line of amps that reproduce the Kirk’s sound in the Metallica albums.
Although there isn’t any technical information yet, we know that Kirk Hammett is working with Randall amps on the recording of their next album produced by Rick Rubin, so he is probably using a prototype of a final release.
The line of Randall Kirk Hammett Signature Amps will include amps, heads, combos and preamp modules, so whatever is your preference you could sound like the “new” Metallica guitar player. Start learning that One solo!
UPDATE (01.17.2008): Randall has updated the info that was released some time ago by telling us the models that will be introduced belonging to the Randall Kirk Hammett Signature Amps, there will be:
- MTS Modules – featuring Kirk Hammett’s classic (KH1), rhythm (KH2) and lead tones (KH3)
- All-tube heads (RM100KH, with 100-watts, 4 JJ6L6GC tubes and featuring the 3 MTS preamp modules)
- Custom-tweaked cabinets (RS412KHX & RS412KH100, with 280-watts and Celestion speakers)
- Amps ranging from 15-watt practice combos to half-stacks (not unveiled yet)
- Limited edition half-stack featuring maple cabinetry and chrome hardware (not unveiled yet)
