We introduced you the Tronical PowerTune System some time ago, and now Gibson has released a Les Paul model featuring this auto-tuning system. The Gibson PowerTune Les Paul will be the first Gibson model to feature this system
The Gibson PowerTune Les Paul will look like a normal Les Paul because the auto-tuning system is almost invisible. The system works with a Master Control Knob (MCK, it will be one of the tone controls) that will change the tuning you choose for your guitar, there are several tunings available like open E, drop D, DADGAD, double dropped D, Hendrix tuning (1/2-step down) and open G, but you can also tune the guitar with your own custom tunings with an external gadget.
This first model with PowerTune looks like a Les Paul Studio with wine red finish, so I suppose it will have the same features, mahogany body (with carved maple top) and neck, rosewood/ebony fingerboard, 22 frets, 24.75″ scale length, Tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece, 490R (neck) and 498T Alnico magnet humbucker pickups, 3-way pickup switch and 2 volume, 1 tone and 1 tone/MCK controls.
The price and availability of the Gibson PowerTune Les Paul has to be announced yet.

According to a lot of sites, it’ll only be 900 dollars. That’s around standard price for a Les Paul Studio.
I think that the kit that is in a lot of online shops is not a Les Paul with the PowerTune systems but the PowerTune system kit only, so you should mount it in your Les Paul.
In the post about the Tronical PowerTune System, we said that its street price will be $800, so I don0t think the full guitar with that system will be only $900, but let’s see what happens.
