Now that some companies are releasing complete packages to record your own songs at your home studio, Apple has released its own package. The Apple Logic Studio is a software package that will fulfill your recording needs if you are an Apple computer user, the package includes Logic Pro 8, Main Studio, Soundtrack Pro 2, Studio Instruments, Studio Effects, Studio Sound Library and some utilities.
The Apple Logic Pro 8 software features some improvements from its previous versions like a more productive single-window design, improved recording, editing and processing the multi-take tracks, full surround and multi-mono support and improved audio editing tools that will allow you to work faster and more precisely. You can even upload your preferences to your .Mac account to have them wherever you want.
The new Apple MainStage version, the software for live performances, features a 3D interface, racks to organize better your instruments and effects, Guitar Amp Pro to get your own custom guitar sound and you can connect any MIDI and USB to your Apple computer to work with the MainStage software.
The Apple Soundtrack Pro 2 will allow you to create your own mixes to be used in your films with a seamless connection to the Final Cut software. It features professional audio editing tools for post-processing, royalty-free sound effects and creations can be made in surround and stereo modes at the same time.
The Apple Studio Instruments features 40 instruments including drums (UltraBeat includes 50 drum kits and 400 new patterns), EXS24 sampler, expressive and unusual sounds (Sculpture), synths and vintage keyboard, pianos, organs and clav sounds. The Apple Studio Effects features 80 professional effect plug-ins that can be included in your creations like delays, modulation, amp and speaker models, mic controls and multipressor, among others.
The utilities included in this software package are, among others, compressor, WaveBurner burning and Apple Loop software. The Apple Logic Studio is now available and its price is $499, $199 if you upgrade from Logic Pro or Logic Platinum/Gold and $299 if you upgrade from Logic Express.
