Besides the Guitar of the Week models and some other guitars that we already introduced you, during August some companies released new and interesting guitar models, we’ll take a look to them. The models we’re gonna introduce you are Godin Velocity, Reverend Buckshot, Behringer iAXE629-BKLS Metalien USB, Fender Limited Edition “Thin Skin” ‘62 Jaguar and Ampeg Dan Armstrong Plexi (reissued).
The new Godin Velocity is a double cut-away guitar that features silver leaf maple body with poplar wings, rock maple neck, maple or Indian rosewood fingerboard (with ergocut), 25.5’’ scale length, vintage tremolo bridge, two Godin GS-1 single-coil (neck and middle) and one SH-5 Duncan Custom humbucker (bridge) pickups, 5-way pickup switch and 1 volume and 1 tone and Godin High-Definition Revoicer (allows to change from passive to active pickups increasing the frequency range) controls. The guitar is available in natural flame, natural burst flame and amber flame finishes and its price is $895.
Reverend Guitars also released a new model in August, the Reverend Buckshot, belonging to the bolt-on series that features chambered mahogany body with solid spruce top, maple neck, rosewood (3-burst model) or maple (cream model) fingerboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, 25.5″ scale length, TOM bridge (or Les Trem bridge for additional $249, list price), Reverend T-style single-coil (bridge) and Reverend Revtron mini-humbucker (neck) pickups, 3-way pickup switch and volume, tone and bass contour controls. The guitar is available in cream and 3-burst finishes and its price is $499.
Behringer has released a new model from its USB guitars series, the Behringer iAXE629-BKLS Metalien USB guitar. This USB instrument is a double cut-away strato-shape guitar that features solid aspen body, hard maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, 24 medium jumbo frets, vintage vibrato bridge, 2 single-coils and 1 humbucker pickups, 5-way pickup switch and volume and tone controls. The guitar features headphones output and USB connection that allows you to connect it directly to the computer (PC or Mac) and play or record with the Guitar Combos Behringer Edition amp modeling and effect processor software that comes with the guitar. The price of this guitar is $219.99.
The post’s last guitar is the limited edition model Fender has released that is not listed their website and, as Cary says, you’ll have to look in the right places to find it out. The Fender Limited Edition Thin Skin ‘62 Jaguar Shoreline Gold features alder body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, 2 Special Design American Vintage Jaguar single-coil pickups, 2-way tone switch, volume and tone controls for the lead circuit and volume and tone controls for the rhythm circuit and circuit selector and 2 pickup on/off slide switches. The guitar comes with a deluxe brown hardshell case and its price is $1,600.
