The second model missed of the Guitar of the Week series is the Gibson SG Special with EMG pickups, that was the 32th week selected guitar. This one looks like a New Century series guitar because its modern look and the EMG pickups, but it is not, I can see Tony Iommi playing one of these.
The Gibson SG Special with EMG pickups features mahogany body and neck, SG profile, ebony fingerboard, 22 frets, 24.75″ scale length, Tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece (both of them in black chrome), EMG 85 (neck) and EMG 81 (bridge) active humbucker pickups, 3-way pickup switch and master tone and master volume controls per pickup.
The guitar comes in a satin ebony finish that give that metal look. The production run of the Gibson SG Special with EMG pickups will be limited to 400 units but the guitar is now available and its price is $1,199.95.
