While we’ve been out some companies have released new products in their microphone lines, so we’re going to introduce them all at the same time. This new mics are Sennheiser MKH 8000 series, Audix Micros series, Beyerdynamic TG-X 930 and CEntrance MicPort Pro (that is not exactly a mic, but a mic preamp).
The German company has released three new condenser mics from the Sennheiser MKH 8000 series, the MKH 8020, a new omni-directional pick-up pattern mic with an extra low octave and 10 Hz to 60 KHz frequency response that is a good choice for close-miking, stereo and surround recordings; the MKH 8040, a cardioid pick-up pattern mic with a 30 Hz to 50 KHz frequency response that will be suitable for poor acoustic or noiseful rooms; and the MKH 8050, a super-cardioid pick-up pattern mic with a 30 Hz to 50 KHz frequency response and symmetrical transducer with two backplates that will be the perfect choice for recording solos.

Also Audix has released new models of its smallest condenser mics series, the Micros series. These new models cam be used for live or studio applications of almost any instrument. The Audix Micros M1250 model is 2″ long and 0.5″ diameter and features a from 80Hz to 20 KHz frequency response and the Audix Micros M1280 model is 3.5″ long and 0.5″ diameter and features a from 40 Hz to 20 KHz frequency response.

Beyerdynamic has released a new condenser mic model specially designed for vocal tasks in live shows belonging to the TourGroup series and based on the MC 930 model. The Beyerdynamic TG-X 930 mic features a cardioid pattern, a maximum sound pressure level of 150 dB, high dynamic range, treble boost and low internal noise level. This mic assures good sound and durability.
The last mic product we’re introducing today is a USB mic preamp, the CEntrance MicPort Pro. This preamp features 24-bit and 96kHz performance, internally generated 48V phantom power for condenser mics, low noise, analog-to-digital converter and input level and headphones output controls. This device works with Windows and Mac, is USB-powered and can be used for overdubs, amp miking or podcasting.
