Although Cary unveiled it some days ago, I was waiting to an official release but it looks like Gibson’s webmasters are on vacations. The new release in the Gibson’s Inspired By series, the Gibson Dave Grohl DG-335, is for one of the guitar players that has used more Gibson different models and probably the second person in the world with more Gibson guitars, Dave Grohl (I think the first is Slash only by looking at this photo).

The Gibson Dave Grohl DG-335 features maple body, mahogany neck, 50’s profile neck, rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, 24.75″ scale length, fixed bridge, 1 Burstbucker 2 (neck) and 1 Burstbucker 3 (bridge) humbucker pickups, 3-way pickup switch and 2 volume and 2 tone controls.

This guitar is available in Pelham blue and ebony colors with lacquer finish and chrome hardware, the Pelham blue really rocks. The Gibson Dave Grohl DG-335 is available for preorder in some on-line stores, it will be available in early October, and its price is $2,499 for the ebony finish and $2,899 for the Pelham blue finish.

Although some time ago we read something about a new professional mixer by Gemini, until today we didn’t have a photo nor the final specifications of this new product. And today we’ve found that Gemini has unveiled not one but two new mixers, the Gemini MM1000 & MM3000 Professional Mixers are specially designed to fulfill all the DJ needs, lets take a look why.

The Gemini MM1000 Professional Mixer features 3 stereo channels, 5-band master EQ (applies to the output signal), 2-band mic EQ, gain control for the mic input, Rail Glide crossfader (replaceable), mono/stereo and cue/master switch, cue/program control, 6-position VU meter, 6 line, 2 RCA (phono/line) and 1/4″ jack inputs and master and record unbalanced RCA outputs.

The Gemini MM3000 Professional Mixer features 5 stereo channels, 3-band EQ per channel, 2-band mic EQ, mic volume control, gain control per channel, Rail GLide crossfader (replaceable), assignable crossfader, auto talk-over function, rotary master, zone, balance and cue volume controls, dual LED meter, 8 line, m Mic, 2 RCA (phono/line) and combo (XLR and 1/4″) mic inputs and balanced master, zone and record RCA and 1/4″ headphone outputs.

Both units are 19″ rack-mountable and need 4 units, but only MM1000 mixer is iPod friendly and includes a cable to connect it. They are now available and their price are $100 for the Gemini MM1000 Professional Mixer and $150 for the Gemini MM3000 Professional Mixer.

Some time ago we introduced to you the Monitor Station Remote as an accessory of the FireStudio interface and now PreSonus releases the PreSonus Monitor Station a tool based on the Central Station that will fit perfectly in your recording studio.

The PreSonus Monitor Station features main speaker selector and volume control, mute, mono and dim attenuation (with level control) functions, 2 balanced TRS, 1 RCA stereo (with level control) and 1 XLR (for a talkback mic, with level control) inputs, 3 stereo TRS speaker (with level control per output), 4 headphones (with amplifiers, volume control and input selector) and main and cue stereo (with input selector) outputs and dual LED meter.

This device will solve a lot speaker problems in the studios and will make easier the monitoring the sound of your creations and choosing the mix that sounds better . The PreSonus Monitor Station will be available in October and its price will be $199.

Hohner Trumpet Call HarmonicaI’m sure this harmonica fits in a strange instrument list, but Hammacher Schlemmer has reissued in its 100th anniversary the Hohner Trumpet Call Harmonica. This harmonica is a high-quality hand-made instrument that features a full concert octave and reproduces each detail of the original one.

The Hohner Trumpet Call Harmonica also features 40 reeds, 5 brass bells and maple pearwood comb. It has a very cool design and, obviously, this harmonica doesn’t work like the normal one, this one produces a vibrato sound when the air goes through any of the bells.

By the way, this harmonica is tuned in the C-major key. The Hohner Trumpet Call Harmonica is now available and its price is $119.95.

Although this is probably only affordable for professional studios this new release of A-Design caught my attention, the A-Design HM2EQ Hammer EQ is an all-analog tube EQ that produces this characteristic warm and clean sound produced by the combination of analog circuit with vacuum tubes.

The A-Design HM2EQ Hammer EQ features Philips 12AT tubes, 2 channels, 3-band EQ controls per channel, boost knobs (up to ±12 dB) per frequency range, bypass, hi cut and low cut filters switchers, on/off switch and blue lamp and 2 balanced XLR inputs (one per channel) and 2 balanced XLR outputs (one per channel).

This EQ is a 2U rack-mountable unit with metal chassis and aluminum front plate. The A-Design HM2EQ Hammer EQ is now available and its price is $2,695. If you are looking for a true analog sound, this is probably a device to consider.

Again, Line6 updates one of its products lines with a new model, this time is the TonePort series that adds a 8-channel recording interface. The Line6 TonePort UX8 Interface includes the same tone engine than the POD products (GearBox) so you can use all the sound power from guitar or bass amps modeled and effects.

The recently re-launched Saint Blues company has released a new semi-hollowbody model belonging to the Bluesmaster series. The Saint Blues 61 South is a telecaster-like shape semi-hollow body guitar with a f-hole that produces a punchy or bright sounds, depending on the pickup configuration.

The Saint Blues 61 South Guitar features ash body, 1-piece hardrock maple neck, maple fingerboard, 21 medium frets, 25.5″ scale length, Nickel Wilkinson WTB bridge, 2 tapped St. Blues single-coil or P90 (neck) and tapped St. Blues single-coil (bridge) pickups, 3-way pickup switch and volume and tone controls (both controls feature push/pull function to reduce a 25% of the pickup signal, so the guitar sounds becomes clearer).

This guitar is available in 2 finishes, white blonde and tobacco sunburst. The Saint Blues 61 South Semi-Hollow Body Guitar is now available and its price is $870.

One of the most important software releases of this month is the new version of the audio production environment of Steinberg, the Steinberg Nuendo 4. The software from the German company includes more features in this new version, but tries to keep it simple and save time to record your own music with known characteristics as 32-bit audio engine with full surround support and a scalable system.

The new Steinberg Nuendo 4 features a new automation system with multi-functional preview mode or individual punch out modes per channel, a mediabay database, to store all the sound effects with simultaneous search and downsize functions, 38 VST3 effects plug-ins (including 4-band parametric EQ, notch filter, compressors, limiters, …), instrument tracks for using with virtual instruments, or track presets, to store in the mediabay database MIDI, audio or instrument tracks with all their parameters, among others.

This software works in Mac (version 10.4 or above) and Windows (Vista and XP with SP2) systems and includes a USB key for product as an anti-copy system. The Steinberg Nuendo 4 Software will be available in October and its price will be $1,799 and starting at $249 if your upgrading from previous versions.
