Randall MTS Series AmpsThe new amps from Randall are not what someone could qualify as normal, the Randall MTS Series Amps has an special feature that will make happy all the DIY and custom modification lovers. This feature is you can choose the tube preamp for your amp, and cange it with any other available model whenever you want, that means you can create your own custom sound Randall amp.

All the MTS preamp modules are based on famous amps like Fender Blackface Twin or Bassman, Marshall JTM45 or Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier, feature two 12AX7 tubes that can be easily changed and has gain, bass, mid, treble, master level and bright switch controls. The available modules from the Randall MTS Series Amps are Ultra (extreme hi-gain tone), Tweed (SRV-like tone), Treadplate (modern rock and nu-metal), Blackface (clean tone with midrange), UltraXL (agressive bottom-end tone), DLX (country music tone), JTM (Marshall mid-gain tone), Clean, SL + (Marshall Super Lead tone), Modern (nu-metal like tone), Plexi (70’s rock and punk tone), Brown (dirty grunge distortion tone), Top Boost (Vox AC30B tone), XTC (hi gain metal tone) and George Lynch Mr. Scary signature model.

You can insert this modules into all the Randall MTS Series amp models that include four head amps (15, 50 and two of 100 watts), four combo amps (15, 50 and two of 100 watts) and one rack preamp with four module slots. All of them are tube amps but each one has different tube configuration, so check them out to choose the better amp for you.

The price of the modules are $200 with the exception of the signature model ($240) and amps from the Randall MTS Series have a price range that goes from $630 to $1,600.

UPDATE (09.04.2007): Randall has released more signature modules, Grail and Brahma modules are George Lynch signature with heavy modern rectified and classic rhythm Plexi tone sounds, respectively, and Super V modules provides a clean tone like Vox amps. From Electric Guitar Review.
