One of the most interesting, by now, releases in the guitar wolrd of this year’s Summer NAMM is the new acoustic-electric archtop guitar by Gretsch. The Gretsch 100CE (G100CDBK for the black finish) is based, as Cary noted, on the Synchromatic G100 model but, among other new features, this one has a pickup on the bridge.
The Gretsch 100CE features laminated maple body with laminated spruce top, laminated maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, 20 frets, compensated bridge with chromatic tailpiece, one Gretsch single-coil pickup and volume and tone controls.
The guitar is available in sunburst and black matte finishes, both of them are really good looking guitars to give a better presence in the stage. The MSRP price of the Gretsch 100CE and G100CEBK guitars is $950.
