Crate has released the first amp from the Profiler series, the Crate Profiler 5 Amp, a 5-watt stereo amp with some special features. This amp is the first one to have a USB connection, I don’t really know if the USB port works also for loading new amp presets, but in the official site they say that can be used as digital output for recording (that really is a very interesting feature).
The Crate Profiler 5 Amp features 11 emulated amps, built-in effects (chorus, flanger, auto-wah, tremolo, reverb, delay, …), an A-string tone generator (to tune the guitar), 1/4″ jack input, 1/8″ aux input, USB output, amp selection, effect selection, reverb level, delay selection, gain, tone and master volume controls.
This amp can be powered by 9V batteries or by a AC adapter and comes with Mackie Tracktion 2 software. The Crate Profiler 5 Amp si now available for pre-order and its price is $159.99, a very interesting price for its possibilities.
