Alesis has released another mixer with iPod dock similar to the IMultiMix 8 USB but specifically designed for professional uses in recording studios or large venues. The Alesis iMultiMix 9R Mixer is a rack-mountable mixer with an iPod dock station that uses the Apple’s device as a music library.
The Alesis iMultiMix 9R Mixer features seven channels, iPod dock, five mic preamps, 48V phantom power, auxiliary send/return connections, 3-band EQ and level control per channel, five mic and two line (on the them is shared with the iPod) inputs and headphones output with level control. One of the most interesting features is the video composite output that allow your to play videos stored in your iPod through the mixer and play them in a TV or a projector.
This mixer/player could be useful in many big places where they need professional rack-mountable gear to play music or to mix from different sources. The Alesis iMultiMix 9R Mixer will be available in late 2007 and its approximate price will be $299.
