Dan Armstrong Stompboxes

Dan Armstrong Stompboxes

Dan Armstrong was a very prolific luthier who worked with Fender, Schecter or Ampeg among other and developed new guitar and bass amps (the firsts with graphic EQ), guitars (one of them with plexiglas body) and effect boxes. The effect boxes have been reissued by Grafton Electronics and the next effects that will be released are Orange Squeezer, Blue Clipper, Black Reaper and Green Ringer.

The original Dan Armstrong Stompboxes were released in 1975 under the same name but were plugged directly into the guitar and with a cable attached to the amp. The Orange Squeezer is a compressor pedal that doesn’t affect the attack of the note and provides 30 dB of clean sustain, this is the most famous Armstrong pedal. The Blue Clipper is a fuzz pedal which distortioned sound is adjusted by the volume of the instrument. The Black Reaper removes the higher sound frequencies to emphasize the midrange tones and have a full range sound level. The last one is the Green Ringer that is a pedal that works as an octaver when one note is played and works as a modulator when more than one note is played (the result can be harmonically related or dissonant).

This stompboxes have been designed to original specifications and handmade in USA. The new Dan Armstrong Stompboxes will be available in mid August and their prices are $119.95.
