Worldwide DJs can make more room for what will be their next gear device, or at least is what Native Instruments expects of their brand new Audio 8 DJ, an audio interface for professional DJs that works between the computer and the PA. This interface has been specially for the TRAKTOR 3 software but can work with any DJ software but, in case you haven’t one, TRAKTOR 3LE is included.
The Native Instruments Audio 8 DJ features up to 96 kHz of sampling frequency and 16/24 bit resolution, Cirrus Logic AD/DA converters, 8 RCA inputs and 8 RCA outputs (or 4 stereo outputs), alternative XLR mic input (instead of inputs 5 and 6) with gain and level controls, 2 optional phono preamps, MIDI and USB ports, headphone output (with level control), 20 individual activity LEDs, 10 to 40kHz frequency response and 100 dB SNR. Available drivers are ASIO, Core Audio and DirectSound.
This interface is USB powered (with security hook for the USB cable), although its size made me think about a DC adapter, and works with Windows XP and Mac OS X. The Native Instruments Audio 8 DJ is now available and its price is $449.
