Port City Amps is moving fast this year, in May they released the Twelve Combo amp, some days ago the 1×12 Wave OS cabinet and now they have released the Port City Twelve Head amp. This head amp features a similar design as the combo version and the same tube sound with natural compression when the amp is at high volume levels.
The Port City Twelve Head Amp features 12 W power output, two guitar inputs (one of them with a 3 dB volume cut), two Electro Harmonix 6V6 power and two JJ 12AX7 preamp tubes and volume and tone controls. Although it looks too simple, the volume and tone controls gives you a lot of sound possibilities, the volume control adjust the gain from clean sound with low gain at low volume levels to distortioned sound with high gain as the volume gets higher.
The 16.75″ width of the amp doesn’t fit exactly the cabinet released some days ago, but I’m sure it could be a killer combination. The Port City Twelve Head Amp is now available and its price is $875.
