The very well-reviewed Macht combo amp has now a head version brother which, as all the amps from Savage Audio, is an all-tube hand-made (with point-to-point wiring) amp. The new Savage Audio Macht Head amp is available in Macht 12 and 12x and Macht 6 model the same as the combo version, and produces the same vintage tone like a 50s-60s small amp.
The Savage Audio Macht Head amp features 6 or 12W power output (depends on the model), one/two 6V6 power, two 12AX7 preamp and one 5AR4 rectifier tubes, tremolo circuit (with Vactrol optocoupler that eliminates noise), Savage Stage/Studio attenuator (only in Macht 12x model, which will conserve the tone sound while cutting down the output level), high and low inputs, volume, tone, speed and depth controls and 4, 8 and 16 ohm speaker outputs.
This head amp can work with many speakers, the ones that are available from Savage Audio are 1 x 15″, 1 x 12″, 1 x 10″ and 2 x 8″ speakers, and you can choose the speakers brand from one of these, Celestion, Jensen, EV, JBL, Eminence, Mojotone or Tone Tubbies. The Savage Audio Macht Head amp’s price is $1290 for the Macht 6 head model, $1390 for the Macht 12 head mode and $1,570 for the Macht 12x head model.
