Tascam has just announced that they are releasing a new recorder model, the Tascam HD-R1. This model is a stereo 2-channel solid state recorder that has been built in 1U rack-mountable unit and records from 44.1 to 48 KHz sampling rates, 16 or 24 bit PCM or MP3 data file formats, and uses compact flash media (instead of classic tapes).
The Tascam HD-R1 Solid State Recorder features mic/line balanced XLR, S/PDIF digital, Euroblock terminal and unbalanced RCA connections, FastEthernet interface and USB port (to transfer files), serial and parallel ports to remotely control the recorder (it also can be done through Ethernet port), USB host for USB flash cards, auto fade function, phantom power, stereo level controls, headphone jack with level control, navigation and transport controls, power-on-play switch and mode selector button (available playback modes are program, folder, shuffle and interval play).
This recorder will be available this Autumn. The price of the Tascam HD-R1 Recorder has to be announced yet.
