Although there’s little info about it, Gibson has announced that they will release a new version of the CJ-165 acoustic guitar from the small bodies section in the modern classic series. Unlike the previous model the Gibson CJ-165 EC Acoustic Guitar will be a single cut-away guitar to provide easier access to the fingerboard.
The main feature of the Gibson CJ-165 EC acoustic guitar is the Fishman Ellipse Aura Acoustic Guitar Preamp which sound images have specially designed for complementing the tone of this acoustic guitar. Other features include curly maple or rosewood body, sitka spruce top and a specially designed ’30’s style wide-scalloped X-bracing.
As the previous model the maple or rosewood options will be available in different models. The Gibson CJ-165 EC Acoustic Guitar will be available in June 15 but its price has to be announced yet.
