
Sometimes you need to record audio tracks in some place and then edit the songs/tracks in the studio (recording a live show, for example) and a portable recorder could be the best device to do this job. Zaxcom has released a new recorder that could do this kind of jobs, the Zaxcom Deva 5.8 Recorder, a recording unit that also allows mixing and has built-in effects.
The Zaxcom Deva 5.8 Recorder features up to ten tracks recoding, 120 dBu dynamic range, 20 Hz to 22 KHz frequency response, 8 integrated hardware faders, internal hard drive, DVD-RAM drive, Flash media slot, EQ per channel, built-in effects (compressor, delay and notch filter), built-in 16 channel mixer, 8 AES digital and 8 XLR analog (with 48V phantom power) inputs, 8 AES digital direct and 6 DB25 with XLR breakout analog outputs, Firewire port and a full color LCD display (with horizontal or vertical meters options).
This recorder unit is compatible with Avid and Protools and data can be entered in the unit with touch screen LCD display, the Deva Mix-12 or an external keyboard. The Zaxcom Deva 5.8 Recorder is now available and its price is $12,500.
