KEL Audio has released a new mic model to be used in studio recordings, this mic can be positioned anywhere in the studio, inside a piano, around toms, in front of an acoustic guitar or an amp, … And although is specially designed as an instrument mic it can be used too as a vocal or choir mic, thsi model is called KEL Audio HM-2 Large Diaphragm mic.
The KEL Audio HM-2 Large Diaphragm mic features small supercardioid polar pattern, 20Hz-20kHz frequency response, 48V phantom power and 1″ externally biased condenser. Also features a 140ยบ null, less than a pure cardioid mic but better than other supercardioid mics.
A very good tool for acoustic recordings (piano, drums, acoustic guitars, …) with an affordable price. The KEL Audio HM-2 Large Diaphragm mic is now available ant is price is $129, although if you acquire it before September you can get it at $99.

UPDATE (2007-22-05): KEL Audio has decided not to release the HM-2 mic because of conflicts with another mic company’s model. They promise to release another model before summer, so we’ll stay tuned.
