Cortex, a digital audio controller company, has released two new models of the CTRL serie, the Cortex CTRL-R1 and the Cortex CTRL-R3. Both controllers have a small size and a simple buttons and controls design to make easier the work, they can work with an external storage device or an external CD unit.
The main features of both products are full mp3 compatibility (CBR and VBR, iTunes playlists, cue point management, …), file explorer mode (to seek audio files), USB port, text-only blue LCD backlit display, big jog wheel (assignable to different functions), pitch control, pitch bend buttons and shuffle mode. The CTRL-R3 also features key and tempo adjust control and Filter, Flange, Reverb and Scratch effects (with parameter and wet/dry controls) and can work with 4 simultaneously USB devices.
Price for Cortex CTRL-R1 is $349 while Cortex CTRL-R3’s price is $599. Both are now available.
