Soundfield has released a surround mic that doesn’t need a extra control unit because all the work is done by the included software. The Soundfield SPS200 A-Format mic can record in different formats like stereo and 5.1 surround perfect for laptop based recordings.
The Soundfield SPS200 features multi-capsule technology (4 low-noise studio grade condenser capsules), standard 48v phantom power and 4 balanced XLR outputs. All the A to B-Format conversion tasks are done by Soundfield Conversion Lounge plugin and the stereo and surround decoding and manipulation is done by Soundfield Surround Zone plugin.
The plugins are available in VST-Multichannel format for PC and Mac. The price and availability of the Soundfield SPS200 has to be announced.
