Seymour Duncan will soon release a distortion pedal that tries to emulate the sound of the 60’s and 70’s amps, the Seymour Duncan SFX-05 Lava Box. They say those amps could speak so they want their pedal speak too.
The Seymour Duncan SFX-05 Lava Box features 3 controls Rumble bass roll-off control, gain and volume rotary knobs and on/off footswitch. The Rumble bass roll-off control changes the distortion tone of the pedal to adjust it to your pickups, it has a 6 different tones, from bright to warm and deep.
Another feature of the Seymour Duncan SFX-05 Lava Box is that independent of the settings if you turn down the volume of your guitar, the pedal cleans up the tone of the sound. I think its a very good idea make the effect react to your volume playing without needing to switch any button. Its price is $99.95.
