Effector 13 company has released a new serie of effect pedals called $35 Artifacts that include AR 05, AR 25, AR 33, AR kP and AR JP. As you already realized all the pedals from this serie costs $35 and they are available through official retailers.
The AR 05 is a clipping boost pedal with sound range from clean but full to gained and crunchy, the AR 25 is a crystal clear boost features a very clean sound in normal and crunchy mode, the AR 33 is a short decay fuzz pedal that sounds good, the AR kP is a chunky overdrive pedal but a little bit low for an overdrived pedal (for me this is the weakest effect) and the AR jP is a passive volume control.
Al the pedals feature volume control, on/off switch, true bypass, aluminum enclosure and are powered by 9V battery (no DC input available).

like the rest of the e13 line, they sound terrible.
Well I don’t think they sound terrible, they sound like a $35 pedal effect. They can’t sound like expensive pedals.
thats kinda silly - they sound 20% as good as a decent boutique fuzz? i’ll pass.
the danelectro mini plastic pedals, even the behringer boss rip off pedals blow these things away. cheap pedals should be functional, not merely in existence for price point alone.
I agree with you, a cheap pedal must do something more than being cheap. But there are some that may not agree with us
I assure you there are plenty of people who disagree with you. :’)

I’m not saying that the $35 Stomp Boxes are bad effects, Im’ saying that a cheap effect must do something more than only being cheap. I remember listening to the sample when I wrote this but now they’re not available.
I think a $35 pedal can be a good option for people who don’t want to spend lots of bucks from other brands’ pedals, but there are also other options at this price.
