Winter NAMM ‘07 guitar announcements (III)

Although the title says guitar this new post of Winter NAMM news covers 3 guitars and 1 bass guitar, the models covered are Epiphone Nikki Sixx Blackbird, First Act Rick Nielsen Custom Guitar, Ovation 2007 Collector’s Edition and Takamine The Storm Limited Edition.

Epiphone Nikki Sixx Blacbird

Epiphone Nikki Sixx Blackbird is a bass guitar designed by Epiphone but influenced by Mötley Crüe bass player, The bass guitar features mahogany body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, 2 DeepSixx humbucker pickups and 3–way pickup switch. The price and availability has to be announced yet.

First Act Rick Nielsen Custom Guitar

First Act Rick Nielsen Custom Guitar is the custom guitar of Cheap Trick’s guitar player, a complete versatile guitar with a huge range of sounds. The guitar features mahogany body and neck, ebony fingerboard, Hipshot hardtail bridge, 6 Kent Armstrong lipstick pickups (yes, you heard it well), 6 volume and 6 tone Hipshot o-ring controls and 6 on/off switches. We don’t know if this guitar will go on sale anytime, but we’d like to see its price.

Ovation 2007 Collectors Edition

Ovation was at Winter NAMM and introduced its new model to the Collector’s Series, the Ovation 2007 Collector’s Edition, a limited edition model with latest Ovation innovation and technologies. The guitar features AAA grade bear claw spruce body with spalted Maple top, “GS” Contour bowl, ergonomic design, ebony fingerboard and bridge, 25.25” scale length, Ovation High Output pickup and VIP “Virtual Image Processing” preamp (built-in studio quality mic sound). A sure great sounding guitar for $2,2790.

Takamine The Storm 2007 Limited Edition

The Takamine “The Storm” 2007 Limited Edition acoustic/electric guitar is the first limited edition guitar since 1996 and has a lighting draw abalone inlays and storm draw in rosette’s solid sitka spruce. The guitar features mahogany body with solid spruce top, ebony fingerboard and CT4B preamp (with 3–band EQ and chromatic tuner).
