Winter NAMM ‘07 pedal announcements

We will do the same kind of post done with the guitars but this time with the pedals introduced at this Winter NAMM ‘07. This post covers Eventide TimeFactor Twin Delay, Line6 Bass Floor Pod, Boss/Fender FBM-1 and FDR-1 and Boss ML-2 Metal Core, DN-2 Dyna Drive and FZ-5 Fuzz.

Eventide TimeFactor Twin DelayThe Eventide TimeFactor Twin Delay is a delay stompbox with studio quality and affordable price. The pedal features 2 independent 3 second delays, 10 stereo or dual mono delay effects (digital delay, tape echo, modulated delay, …), instant program change, 27 user presets and guitar/line level inputs and outputs.

Line6 Bass Floor PODThe Line6 Bass Floor Pod allows the bass players to have a huge range of sound like guitar players. The pedal features 5 bass amp models (clean, R&B, rock, grind and synth), 3 effects (envelope filter, octaver and chorus), bass and CD/MP3 inputs and stereo and headphones outputs, 64 factory presets (made by professional players) and a expression pedal.

Boss Fender FDR-1 & FBM-1Boss and Fender have joined efforts to create pedals with the sound of Fender amps and they called them Vintage Amp Pedals. The Boss FBM-1 Fender ‘59 Bassman recreates the sound of the classic Fender ‘59 Bassman amp even with the same controls (presence, treble, mid and bass EQ) and works perfectly before an overdriven amp. The Boss FDR-1 Fender ‘65 Deluxe Reverb has the same concept, recreate original Fender classic amps sound. This pedal feature also the same controls (level, gain, treble, bass, vibrato and reverb) and also works perfectly before an overdriven amp.

BOSS ML-2, DN-2 and FZ-5Boss also released 3 pedals in this NAMM show, the first is the Boss ML-2 Metal Core, a pedal with extreme gain for much distortioned music like NU Metal or Industrial. The pedal features low controls for heavy and frequency, high controls for screaming and metallic tone, level and distortion level controls.

The second is the Boss DN-2 Dyna Drive pedal is a distortion pedal that reacts to your playing, if you play soft you get a clean sound and if you play hard you get a heavy overdrived sound, a good way to add more expression to your playing. The pedal features level, drive and tone controls.

The last is the Boss FZ-5 Fuzz pedal, a pedal with a retro sound from the 60’s and 70’s generated by COSM technology. The pedal features level and fuzz controls and mode knob to choose what vintage sound you want to recreate (Maestro FZ-1A, Fuzz Face and Octavia sounds).
