The main features of the Zoom H4 are 2 electret condenser mics (configured for true stereo recording), 2 XLR-1/4” inputs with phantom power (for true stereo recording with external mics), a 1/8” headphone output, USB port (to transfer data to your computer), back-lit LCD and is powered by 2 AA batteries or by an AC adaptor.
The Zoom H4 can record in different qualities from 24-bit/96 kHz digital audio to MP3 (up to 320 kbps) and features on-board studio effects like compression, limiting and mic and amp modeling. The device can record in 4–track mode and convert the multi-track recording to CD quality.
Zoom H4’s price is $299.95 and you can download new versions of the device software to benefit from improvements.
