The Bohemian

RS Classic
Cary brings us a new review of a new Aslin Dane guitar, not shown in the official site, whose name is the Aslin Dane Bohemian. Although I prefer waiting for the Cary’s full review, we will introduce some of its features.
The Aslin Dane Bohemian features mahogany body and neck, rosewood fretboard, 3 mini-humbuckers, 1 volume and 1 tone knobs, 3 pickup on/off and 3 pickup coil tap sliders (22 possible pickup combinations), etc.
But looking at the guitar, doesn’t it remind you of something? It reminds me a lot of the Brian May custom made guitar (RS Guitars has a replica, the RS Classic), the shape is similar, the pickup switches are exactly the same, the dot inlays look very similar, the headstock, … I don’t know if this is a clonic version of the Brian May guitar but, it looks very similar.
You can judge yourself looking at the photos.
UPDATE: Cary confirms that the Bohemian is a re-build of the original Brian May custom guitar and the name was changed because May isn’t involved anymore with the guitar.
UPDATE (16/11/2006): Cary has made a full review of the guitar, you must check it out.

Hehe, good detective work, Khriz… the Bohemian is essentially a re-make of Aslin Dane’s original Brian May Model. I believe they changed the name to the Bohemian because May is no longer involved with the guitar maker, but people loved the guitar so they re-built it under a new name.
This is a surprisingly fun guitar for the price. Thanks for the mention!
Thanks for info, Cary.
