Blackie enters in Fender Custom Shop

Blackie

Blackie is the name of a guitar once owned and always loved by Eric Clapton that was auctioned 2 years ago to raise fund for the Crossroads Centre, a drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation centre, founded by Clapton. In the auction the guitar was purchased by Guitar Center, Inc who has teamed by Fender to build 128 Blackie reproductions in the USA (I don’t know if will be more units outside the USA).

Blackie is a 50’s Fender Stratocaster which neck was reshaped by Clapton, Fender will maintain all the details of the guitar (you can see the Blackie photo at the top), and will be only available through Guitar Center.

The price of the re-edition of the Blackie will be $24,000 (a portion will be for Crossroads Centre), only available for slowhand die hard fans. The guitar will be available on Black Friday, November 24th, and Fender Blackie’s official site will be closed until then.
