I’m sure some of you have asked yourself “how does he change the effect of the guitar without a pedal o something similar?” when seeing a live show. The guitar switches do that. At the 121st AES Radial Engineering introduced a prototype of the JX44 Air Control, a guitar switch for live shows, that allows the guitar player with remote-control or guitar tech to select appropriate sound with the correct input.
The JX44 Air Control features 4 exclusive guitar inputs (there are 2 paralleled at the front), if you select one, the previous is de-selected, 4 amp outputs (2 mono and 2 stereo amp rigs) with mute function for tuning, panic button (connects input A to output 1 to ensure the show continues), 2 effect loops (1 for multi-effects and the other for external stage pedals, without the noise of the cables).
The JX44 Air Control will be available in January 2007 and will cost $1,000. A great tool for stage shows.
